Hicks Law Firm is aware of various complaints related to defects in the 2017-2019 Ford Focus and Ford Fiesta, including, but not limited to, transmission hesitation including stalling and jerking, electrical system problems, no start issues with park assist, the My Ford Touch SYNC system, engine failure, power steering problems, clutch defects, check engine light illumination defects and consistent loud scrubbing noise.

Ford Focus & Fiesta Transmission Lawsuit

Four owners of the 2017-19 Ford Fiesta and 2017-18 Ford Focus have filed a lawsuit against Ford Motor Co., claiming that these vehicles suffer from the same irreparable transmission flaws as earlier models, which previously resulted in settlements costing hundreds of millions of dollars. The plaintiffs accuse Ford of concealing crucial details about its Dual PowerShift 6-speed (DPS6) transmission, which was promoted as a fuel-efficient substitute for conventional manual or automatic transmissions. This transmission was marketed with the promise of combining the ease of an automatic with the fuel economy of a manual vehicle.

If your Ford Focus or Fiesta has had any of these problems, or if you have been experiencing other serious issues with your vehicle, then you may wish to discuss this matter with your local dealership to see if there is any extended warranty coverage provided as a result of the lawsuit.

If your vehicle has been in the shop for a number of times or an extended period for these conditions, you may have rights, remedies and entitlements provided by State and Federal laws that may entitle you to a manufacturer’s buyback or a cash settlement.
